How Do I Reinitialize a Manager's Work Station Printer

This lesson will teach you how to reinitialize a manager's work station printer when it isn't printing.

Log into the Manager's Work Station as root.

Type lpq then press enter to view the printer's status.

1. The printer's name is "printer".

2. The status is "not ready".

3. The file mreceipt.044 is in the print queue.

Type the following command and press enter:  lpadmin -p printer –E (‘printer’ is whatever the printer name is as setup in YAST, lpq output "printer" as the printer name in the example.)

Type lpq and press enter.

Make sure the printer is now ready.

*If there were multiple jobs in the print queue, the printer will be ready and printing.
