How to Find a Credit Card Number
To find out how a pump was started, start looking in the Syslog.dat on the Site Controller. You can locate the sale by first finding where the transaction ended by the dollar amount.
vi Syslog.dat read the file
/xx.xx search for the dollar amount
Once you have found where the sale has completed (i.e. Gas: Cashing 338.98 type 1 (3)),
/(x) search for your pump number
While holding the shift key hit n to move upward in the file.
What you are doing is following the sale. When you search for the dollar amount, it takes you to where the sale was finished. If you follow the sale up, you will find where the pump was started.
If the transaction was started inside, stop searching when you find where the sale was authorized. If the transaction was started outside, continue to follow the sale up until you find the card read.
In the CCLlog you will use the time found at the end of Step #1 to locate the card swipe. (i.e. 07-31 05:45:58)
vi CCLlog.dat read the file
/xx-xx xx:xx:xx search for the date and time in the following format
Only truck fleet cards will show a full card number. All bank cards show only the first 6 and last 4 numbers of a card.
