How Do I Change the IP Address of a Linux Machine Using YaST

Log in to the Linux Machine Using Any SSH Client. (For our example, we are using Putty.)

Once logged in, type "yast" and press enter. This will launch the yast program.

Arrow down to Network Devices.

Arrow to the right and then down to Network Settings and press enter.

There should only be one network card listed and it should show the IP that needs to be changed. If so, press the TAB button until EDIT is highlighted and then press enter.

Press the TAB button until the IP address is highlighted.

Change the address to the new IP address.

Press Tab until NEXT is highlighted and press enter.

OK should now be highlighted. Press enter to save the changes that were made.

Press TAB until Quit is highlighted and then press enter.

NOTE: If the IP address of an LPT is changed, the /home/sitecon/sc/lpt.map file will need to be changed to reflect the new IP.
