How Do I Process a Transaction if the Customer Is Paying with a Credit Card (EMV)?
This lesson will teach you how to tender a transaction when the customer is paying with a credit card (EMV)
Sale In Progress
Ring the items in the customer's purchase. Notice that the Register Status has changed from Idle to Sale in Progress
Subtotal
Touching the "Subtotal" button will display the total Amount Due
Payment Due for the Transaction
You can see the total amount owed by the customer for the transaction by checking the Amount Due. For a credit card payment Press Credit on the Register
A System Message will be displayed on your register
EMV Credit Transaction Processing
Verifone MX 915 Terminal
Credit, Debit, EBT buttons will be displayed on the MX 915 pinpad
For Credit transaction, select Credit on the MX Pinpad, message will display on the pinpad: Insert or Swipe Card. Customer will then insert their Chip Card into the Card Reader Slot
Message to Confirm Amount YES/NO will be displayed on the pinpad
Press YES if amount is correct. If a PIN is required, a message Please enter your PIN will be displayed
Enter PIN, and press Enter. "Please Wait, Do Not Remove Card" will then be displayed on the pinpad
If a signature is required, a signature box will be displayed on the pinpad
Have customer sign on the pinpad and Press Done
Transaction will then complete and a message Please Remove Card will be displayed
Please note if No was pressed during the Confirm Amount prompt, Enter Card Number will be displayed on the Register. Press Cancel to be able to Cancel, Void, or Tender the transaction again
