What Are Cashier Permissions?

Pay-In/Pay-Out

This flag setting is a check box used to authorize the cashier to complete Pay-In's and Pay-Out's. Click in the check box to allow the cashier to complete the transaction, or leave the check box blank to prohibit the cashier from completing the transaction. If this check box is blank the POS displays an error when a pay-in or pay-out is attempted by the cashier.

Allow Voids

This flag setting is a check box used to authorize the cashier to void a previous item or the last item registered. Click in the check box to allow the cashier to complete the void, or leave the check box blank to prohibit the cashier from completing the void. If this check box is left blank, the POS displays an error when a void is attempted by this cashier.

Allow Cancel Sales

This flag setting is a check box used to authorize the cashier to cancel a sale. Click in the check box to allow the cashier to cancel the sale, or leave the check box blank to prohibit the cashier from canceling a sale. If this check box is left blank the POS displays an error window when a cancel is attempted by this cashier.

Has Manager Authority

This flag setting is a check box used to give Managerial Authority to a cashier, meaning that the system does not require entry of a Manager Code when this cashier tries to perform functions normally requiring a Manager Code be entered. Click in the check box to give this cashier Manager Authority. Leave the check box blank to if you do not want to give this cashier Manager Authority.

Allow Refunds

This flag setting is a check box used to authorize the cashier to complete refunds by pressing the refund key on the POS keyboard. Click in the check box if the cashier is authorized to complete refunds, or leave the check box blank to if the cashier is not authorized to complete refunds. If this check box is left blank, only someone using the MANAGER OVERRIDE key and the appropriate password is able to process a refund.

This flag setting is a check box used to authorize the cashier to print the X reports. Click in the check box, if the cashier is authorized to print the reports. Leave the check box blank if the cashier is not authorized to print X-Reports. If this check box is left blank, the POS displays an error if the cashier attempts to print an X-Mode report.

This flag setting is a check box used to authorize the cashier to reset or "Z" out (END OF DAY) the POS. Click in the check box, if the cashier is authorized to reset the POS. Leave the check box blank if the cashier is not authorized to print Z-Reports. If this check box is left blank, the POS displays an error if the cashier attempts to use the "Z" reset key.

Discount

This flag setting is a check box used to allow the cashier to use any of the discount keys that may be setup on the POS. Click in the check box, if the cashier is authorized to use the discount keys, or leave the check box blank, if the cashier is not authorized to use the keys. If this flag is left blank, the POS displays an error when any discount keys are pressed by this cashier.

Allow Open PLU Key

This flag setting is a check box used to authorize the cashier to use the open PLU key. This key is used to setup new PLU items during a sale. Click in the check box, if the cashier is authorized to use the key, or leave the check box blank, if the cashier is not authorized to use the key. If this check box is left blank, the POS displays an error when the open PLU key is pressed by this cashier.

Operate With Drawer Open

This flag setting is a check box used to designate whether the POS operates with the drawer open. Click in the check box to allow the cashier to continue to operate with the cash drawer open or closed.
